Soccer Game Preview: Hill School vs. Mercersburg Academy

The Hill School Rams will challenge the Mercersburg Academy Storm at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hill School was handed a five-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Baldwin 2-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Hill School's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Baldwin are ranked 185th).

Lily Mauro and Caroline Brandt scored both of Hill School's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Meanwhile, Mercersburg Academy entered their tilt with Shipley on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let Shipley get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Mercersburg Academy were the better team in the second half.

The win got Mercersburg Academy back to even at 9-9-3. As for Hill School, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-3.

Hill School came out on top in a nail-biter against Mercersburg Academy in their previous matchup last Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Storm turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
