Maranatha Christian came tearing into Friday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.6 points), and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the O'Farrell Charter Falcons 62-0. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Maranatha Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shane Piester led the charge by throwing for 162 yards and four TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing. What's more, Piester posted three receiving yards, the most he's had since back in August. Hudson Heinrichs was another key pass catcher, picking up 85 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Another reason for the win was Maranatha Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 7.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Holton Heinrichs and Nathan Niguidula, who racked up four sacks between them. Maranatha Christian got some further help from Aaron Tasin: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made seven total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Maranatha Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for O'Farrell Charter, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
