Basketball Recap: Victoria East Comes Up Short

Victoria East and Spring Woods squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Victoria East had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Spring Woods Tigers. The Titans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

It was another big night for Tavionn Pickens, who went 10-for-14 to rack up 25 points and three steals for Spring Woods. That's the most points Pickens has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Trae Pickens, who had ten points.

Victoria East's loss dropped their record down to 19-17. As for Spring Woods, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Victoria East does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spring Woods, they will face off against East View at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Woods is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.7 points per game this season.
