There's no place like home for the West Ashley Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Wednesday. They escaped with a win on Friday against James Island by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53. This was payback for West Ashley, who suffered a 58-57 loss the last time these two teams met.
West Ashley found their leader in underclassman Kendall Mack, who scored 19 points. Mack set a new season high mark in points with 19. Cameron Brown was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds.
West Ashley pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for James Island, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
