Preview: Waccamaw Warriors vs. Dillon Wildcats
Waccamaw is 0-10 against Dillon since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Waccamaw Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Dillon Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Waccamaw had to settle for a 38-36 defeat against Aynor. Waccamaw has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The losing side was boosted by Zaireon Skinner, who rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, Dillon had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Manning 47-22. The result was nothing new for Dillon, who have now won five contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Dillon's win bumped their season record to 7-1 while Waccamaw's defeat dropped theirs to 3-5.
Waccamaw might still be hurting after the 38-14 defeat they got from Dillon when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Waccamaw, Ty Martin (who rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns on only six carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
