Volleyball Recap: Pacelli Cardinals vs. Auburndale Apaches
Pacelli and Auburndale squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Pacelli had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auburndale Apaches. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Apaches apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Auburndale scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23.
Auburndale was led to victory by Jaylnn Scherr and Kylie Anderson. Scherr had 11 digs and three aces, while Anderson had 18 digs. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last five games she's played.
Pacelli's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-12. As for Auburndale, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-13.
