Preview: St. Francis Sharks vs. Gilroy Mustangs
The St. Francis Sharks will be playing at home against the Gilroy Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
St. Francis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 66-58 to Soquel. Even though they lost, St. Francis' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 52 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Loss or not, St. Francis got some senior leadership from Sam Braun who scored 25 points along with 5 rebounds and Joseph Rose who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was Rose's third in a row with at least ten points. Robert Gomez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Gilroy's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-43 victory over Live Oak. The win was just what Gilroy needed coming off of a 52-23 defeat in their prior game.
The losses dropped St. Francis to 0-3 and Soquel to 1-5.
