Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Lawrence County's Ninth in Last 11 Outings

Lawrence County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bob Jones, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 10-2 win on Saturday. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

Bella Cross made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, LA Norwood was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alivia Templeton was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Lawrence County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Bob Jones, they dropped their record down to 8-23 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Lawrence County has already played their next game, a 6-1 win against Russellville on the 8th. Bob Jones has also already played their next match (against Lauderdale County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
