Recap: Franklin Flyers vs. Blue Hill Bobcats

The Franklin Flyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 13th straight loss. They suffered a tough 52-28 defeat at the hands of Blue Hill. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Franklin has suffered against Blue Hill since February 4, 2019.

Franklin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elizabeth Olson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.

It was another big night for Reece Mlady, who scored 16 points along with seven steals for Blue Hill. Mlady hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Ellie Mangers, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Franklin's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Blue Hill, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will take on Wilcox-Hildreth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Wilcox-Hildreth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday. As for Blue Hill, they will head out on the road to take on Shelton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Shelton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Blue Hill in Nebraska (Shelton is ranked 85th, while Blue Hill is ranked 208th).
