Basketball Game Preview: Hilbert Wolves vs. St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs

The Hilbert Wolves will venture away from home to face off against the St. Mary Catholic Zephyrs at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Hilbert took a blow against Manitowoc Lutheran, falling 76-47. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Reedsville by a score of 65-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Zephyrs have suffered against the Panthers since January 10, 2020.

Hilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for St. Mary Catholic, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-6.

Things could have been worse for Hilbert, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 81-65 loss to St. Mary Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Hilbert avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
