Football Recap: Wahpeton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

In Friday's Canine Competition, Wahpeton didn't have enough. They were outmatched by the Watford City Wolves and fell 39-12. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Wahpeton lost on Friday, don't look at Michael Petersen. Despite the final result, he rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown.

Leading Watford City to victory were Rhylie Ledahl-Berger and Baylor Salas. Ledahl-Berger rushed for 192 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, while Salas rushed for 88 yards on only six carries.

Wahpeton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Watford City, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Wahpeton will face off against Devils Lake on Friday. As for Watford City, they will host Williston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
