Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for La Jolla

La Jolla won against Morse on Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Vikings blew past the Tigers 10-4. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Travis Lancaster made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Lancaster was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Adam Lafever was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Hank Hansen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

La Jolla pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.5 runs across that stretch. As for Morse, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16-1 record this season.

Coincidentally, La Jolla and Morse will both be playing San Diego the next time they take the field. The Vikings will host the Cavers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on May 5.
