Volleyball Recap: Gulliver Prep Wins Going Away Against Monsignor Pace

It's playoff time, and Gulliver Prep had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Monsignor Pace Spartans with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

While Gulliver Prep won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22, 25-18.

Kate Welty paced Gulliver Prep's offense, picking up 13 kills. Welty got some help from Brianna Napoles and her 25 assists. Mia Lavalle controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

When it comes to explaining why Monsignor Pace lost, don't look at Tiffany Mirabal. Despite the final result, she had nine digs.

Gulliver Prep's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Monsignor Pace, the loss snapped their winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 14-11 record.

Looking ahead, Gulliver Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monsignor Pace does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
