Recap: Muleshoe Mules vs. Morton Indians
The Muleshoe Mules were the 53-44 winner over the Morton Indians when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Muleshoe was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 48-47 to Morton.
When it comes to explaining why Muleshoe lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sebastian Kirven. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Kirven scored a full 31.9% of Muleshoe's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Adam Alarcon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists.
Muleshoe bumped their record down to 3-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Morton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Muleshoe will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Denver City at 1:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Morton will be home for the holidays to greet Whitharral at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Whitharral focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
