Volleyball Game Preview: Fenwick Friars vs. Nazareth Academy Roadrunners

Fenwick is a perfect 3-0 against Nazareth Academy since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Friars will face off against the Roadrunners at 6:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Fenwick and seven for Nazareth Academy dating back to last season.

On Wednesday, Fenwick didn't have quite enough to beat Payton College Prep and fell 2-1. While the Friars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Grizzlies 25-20 in the first set.

Fenwick started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-17, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Nazareth Academy came up short against Ridgewood on Wednesday and fell 2-0.

While Nazareth Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20.

Nazareth Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Fenwick, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Fenwick was able to grind out a solid win over Nazareth Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Friars since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
