Healdsburg has gone a perfect 3-0 against Credo recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Healdsburg Greyhounds will take on the Credo Gryphon at 6:30 p.m. Credo took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Healdsburg, who comes in off a win.
Healdsburg was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Middletown on Friday. Healdsburg's pitchers stepped up to hand Middletown a 6-0 shutout. The Greyhounds not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.
Henry Smith was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.
In other pitching news, Eric Nielsen tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Xander Harms, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Nova Perrill was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Credo scored first but ultimately less than St. Vincent de Paul in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 6-4.
Credo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braeden Swift, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another was Tommy Simmons, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Healdsburg's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-1. As for Credo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Healdsburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Credo in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Healdsburg since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
