Basketball Recap: Brighton Charter Comes Up Short

Brighton Charter lost against Our Lady of the Sun Academy back in February of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Brighton Charter Tigers came up short against the Our Lady of the Sun Academy Angels, falling 60-37. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Joseph Gilmor, who went 10 for 16 on his way to 23 points in addition to seven steals and five boards for Our Lady of the Sun Academy. Gilmor is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Reiss, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Brighton Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Our Lady of the Sun Academy, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Brighton Charter will venture away from home to face off against Telesis Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Brighton Charter is facing Telesis Prep at the right time seeing as Telesis Prep is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Our Lady of the Sun Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-43 victory against Psalms Learning Center on the 10th.
