Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rodriguez walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lodi Flames 4-3 on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on 13 straight.

Rodriguez got a great performance from Nick Schikore as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Schikore has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jack Jacobson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Gideon Mayo was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Rodriguez hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Rodriguez's record is now 21-7. As for Lodi, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-8.

Rodriguez will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Flames: the pair will be back at it again later today.
