Recap: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Livingston Wolves
The Hilmar Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 11th straight defeat. They fell 74-66 to Livingston. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hilmar in their matchups with Livingston: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Hilmar saw an underclassman step up: Xavier Silveira scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Silveira has scored all season. Seth Russel was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Livingston was led to victory by Jayshaan Bains and Adrian Aguirre. Bains scored 19 points, while Aguirre scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Imanol Gutierrez, who scored ten points.
Hilmar's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Livingston, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-19.
Hilmar will take on Escalon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escalon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Hilmar likes a good challenge. As for Livingston, they will head out on the road to challenge Riverbank at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
