Baseball Recap: Mater Dei Extends Winning Streak to Three

It's playoff time, and Mater Dei had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the South Hills Huskies get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Monarchs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Mater Dei pushed their record up to 16-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 21-8.

Coming up, Mater Dei will square off against Simi Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pioneers will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Monarchs surely won't give up without a fight. South Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
