Football Game Preview: Rock Creek Mustangs vs. Marysville Bulldogs + Official Tickets

Rock Creek has gone a perfect 4-0 against Marysville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will host the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Rock Creek has five straight wins, Marysville has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Rock Creek took their game with ease, bagging a 45-7 victory over Clay Center. Considering the Mustangs have won three contests by more than 37 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Rock Creek relied on the efforts of Tate Smith, who threw for 271 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and Zion Bell, who rushed for 110 yards and three scores. Those 271 passing yards gave Smith a new career-high.

Rock Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brodee Clark and Owen Geyer. Nick Allen was another major factor on D, making 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Marysville lost to Abilene at home by a 21-6 margin on Friday.

Marysville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rock Creek, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Rock Creek strolled past Marysville when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 31-14. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
