On Thursday Hailey Akers tossed five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. The effort also marked the fewest walks (zero) Akers has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her sixth in a row with less than two walks. This season, she has an ERA of 5.73 over 36.7 innings pitched.

Akers and Landstown will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Norview at 4:30 p.m. on the 21st.
