Basketball Game Preview: Salamanca Warriors vs. Southwestern Trojans

Salamanca hasn't had much luck against Southwestern recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Salamanca Warriors will be playing at home against the Southwestern Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Salamanca will be strutting in after a victory while Southwestern will be coming in after a loss.

Salamanca is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Fredonia on Friday as Salamanca made off with a 52-29 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Warriors have posted since February 23, 2024.

Salamanca got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leilene Mccomber out in front who went 6 for 9 on her way to 19 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charli Ross, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Salamanca was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Southwestern came up short against West Seneca West back in December of 2024, falling 61-35.

The victory made it two in a row for Salamanca and bumps their season record up to 5-3. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
