Basketball Recap: Tri-West Hendricks' Run of Ten Straight Wins Now Over

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tri-West Hendricks can now relate to. They came up short against the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles on Saturday, falling 63-39. The contest marked the Bruins' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Daniel Thomas and Wes Ward certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Thomas posted 11 points and three steals, while Ward put up nine points and four blocks. Thomas is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kellen Dakin, who scored five points.

It was another big night for Ryne Paris, who went 8-for-14 en route to 20 points along with five assists and four steals for Guerin Catholic. The dominant performance gave Paris a new career-high in points. Bryson Cardinal was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

With the loss, Tri-West Hendricks broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points over those games. As for Guerin Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Tri-West Hendricks does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Guerin Catholic, they will challenge New Palestine at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
