Soccer Recap: Wagner Takes a Loss

Wagner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost 6-2 to the Veterans Memorial Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in January.

Damian Martinez and Ian Del Rio scored both of Wagner's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Wagner's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Veterans Memorial, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14.

Looking ahead, Wagner will host Smithson Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Wagner has given up an average of 4.5 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Veterans Memorial, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tivy at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
