Basketball Recap: Cairo Comes Up Short

Cairo lost against Westover back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cairo Syrupmakers came up short against the Westover Patriots, falling 62-39. The Syrupmakers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

Westover's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryson Carter, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Williams, who went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points.

Cairo is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17. As for Westover, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

Cairo has already played their next game (against Peach County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Westover will welcome Bainbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westover is facing Bainbridge at the right time seeing as Bainbridge is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
