            Baseball Preview: Tylertown Chiefs vs. West Marion Trojans        
        
		
        
        
            Tylertown is 0-10 against West Marion since April of 2017 but things could change  on Tuesday. The Tylertown Chiefs will face off against the West Marion Trojans at 7:00  p.m.
Last Thursday, Tylertown didn't have quite enough to beat St. Patrick and fell  2-1. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, West Marion came into Thursday's   contest having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They had just enough and edged out Enterprise  4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Trojans have posted  since May 13, 2024.
 Kolby Stringer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has been consistent  recently: he hasn't  given up  more than one  hit in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI.
 In other pitching news,  Sam Smith looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. The dominant performance also gave  him a new career-low in  walks (zero).
 Stringer wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Caden Turnage, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI. That's the most  hits  Turnage has posted since back in February.
 The  win was their first  at home , bumping their record up to 2-12. As for Tylertown, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
 Tylertown suffered a grim  12-2 defeat to West Marion  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2024. Can Tylertown avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
