Volleyball Recap: Franklin Community Beats Batesville for Their Sixth Straight Win

Franklin Community waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Batesville Bulldogs by a score of 2-0. The Grizzly Cubs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

While Franklin Community might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Batesville scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20.

Rose Mahin paced Franklin Community's offense, picking up 19 kills. Mahin got some help from Karlin Burton and her 24 assists. Mahin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Batesville still got an impressive performance from Anya Richey, who had 14 digs and one assist. Maggie Jelinek also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Franklin Community's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Batesville, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Franklin Community has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Seymour on the 20th. As for Batesville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard on the 20th.
