Softball Preview: Noxapater Tigers vs. Winona Tigers

After two games on the road, Noxapater is heading back home. They will take on the Winona Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Noxapater's favor is that they have posted big run totals in their last three matchups.

Noxapater is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Tuesday, just like they did against Scott Central (and have done all season long). Noxapater never let Scott Central onto the board and left with a 14-0 win on Monday.

Morgan Woods was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Woods has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. Woods was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karlee Sullivan, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Saniya Holmes was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Noxapater's victory bumped their record up to 10-6-1. As for Winona, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-11.
