Basketball Recap: Kellogg Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Kellogg faced off against Maple Valley on Wednesday. The Kellogg Panthers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Maple Valley Lions. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 65-49.

Leading Maple Valley to victory were Teegen McDonald and Jake Mcdonald. McDonald posted 18 points, while Mcdonald earned 11 points and three steals. McDonald's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelvin Nevins-Davis, who had seven points.

Kellogg now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Maple Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-8.

Kellogg has already played their next contest (against Black River), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Maple Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-38 defeat against Concord on the 24th.
