Central Wise has gone 6-1 against Honaker recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Warriors will take on the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Central Wise had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Richlands on Friday. The Warriors' defense stepped up to hand the Blue Tornado an 8-0 shutout. Given Central Wise's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Richlands are ranked 226th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Honaker faced off against Virginia High on Friday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Bearcats. The high-scoring effort was just what Honaker needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

The win keeps Central Wise at an undefeated 9-0-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Honaker, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season.

Everything went Central Wise's way against Honaker in their previous matchup back in April, as Central Wise made off with a 7-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
