The Westover Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Cairo at home to the tune of 66-35. That 31 points margin sets a new team best for Westover this season.
Westover found their leader in underclassman Sydney Donaldson, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Donaldson has scored all season. Jada Landers was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Westover has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. As for Cairo, their loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-13.
Westover won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Colquitt County at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Colquitt County will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Cairo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Shaw at 4:00 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Shaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
