Softball Recap: Turner Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Turner's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on East Troy with a sharp 11-1 victory. Turner hasn't had any issues with East Troy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Olyvia Piranio spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddy Hoenig, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Crall, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Turner's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for East Troy, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Turner will face off against Delavan-Darien at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Troy, they will take on Evansville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
