Baseball Game Preview: Central Catholic Vikings vs. North Hills Indians

For the second straight game, Central Catholic will face off against North Hills. The Vikings will head out to take on the Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so North Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

While Central Catholic's victory against North Hills wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings came out on top against the Indians on Monday by a score of 3-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won three in a row.

Josh McFadden tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Central Catholic is undefeated when McFadden allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Central Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landon Greene, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

North Hills is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 3.2 runs. As for Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
