While Thornton might've come up empty on Monday, Lamar Dawson wasn't going down without a fight. Dawson wasn't messing around, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. The game was his third straight with two or more stolen bases.

Even though Dawson couldn't lead Thornton over Crete-Monee, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats haven't beaten the Warriors recently, having gone 0-10 since May of 2021.
