West Monona suffered their biggest loss since January 9th on Monday. They lost 72-51 to the Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Falcons are ranked 105th).

West Monona's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

The future could be bright for both West Monona and Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. West Monona will look to extend Kingsley-Pierson's three-game losing streak when the meet on Thursday. Meanwhile, Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove will try to hand Alta-Aurelia their sixth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
