East Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took their game with ease, bagging a 76-48 victory over the Newington Nor'easters. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Nor'easters are ranked 45th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

East Catholic pushed their record up to 20-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.7 points over those games. As for Newington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Coming up, East Catholic will face off against Windsor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Windsor's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. Newington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
