Baseball Game Preview: Buhach Colony Thunder vs. El Capitan Gauchos

The Buhach Colony Thunder will square off against the El Capitan Gauchos at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Buhach Colony didn't have quite enough to beat Golden Valley and fell 5-3.

Buhach Colony got a good showing from Bryson Fainter, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Fainter gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Jacob Medina was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ethan Quintana, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, El Capitan fell victim to Atwater and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 1-0. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

El Capitan dropped their record down to 4-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Buhach Colony, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.
