The Hamilton Knights will face off against Canastota at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Hamilton didn't have quite enough to beat Poland and fell 9-8.

Jack Penoyer made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Levi Neuenschwander was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, Canastota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-7 to Mt. Markham. On the bright side, the seven- run performance marked Canastota's highest-scoring matchup to date.

Wyatt Duffy was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Howard, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Hamilton's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Canastota, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Canastota's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Hamilton has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. It's a different story for Canastota, though, as they've only averaged .310. Will they be able to contain Hamilton's hitters?
