Basketball Recap: Davenport Wolves vs. Temple Wildcats
The Davenport Wolves waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They managed a 58-53 victory over Temple.
Davenport's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Gaston led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five steals. Gaston hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Brandon Castilla was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds.
Davenport has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-7 record this season. As for Temple, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-23.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davenport will take on the BULLDOGS at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Temple, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldawgs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Copperas Cove has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
