Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Silverdale Academy's Fifth in Last Six Outings

If Boyd-Buchanan wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Silverdale Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Kinsley Owen. Everything went the Silverdale Academy Seahawks' way against the Boyd-Buchanan Buccaneers on Friday as the Silverdale Academy Seahawks made off with a 57-36 win thanks in part to Owen, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 18 points along with seven assists and seven steals. Owen is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Silverdale Academy has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Silverdale Academy has already played their next contest (against King's Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Boyd-Buchanan will face off against Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
