Softball Recap: Archbishop Murphy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Shorecrest

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Archbishop Murphy). They blew past the Shorecrest Scots 21-2 on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Carly Madhavan was a standout: she fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 5-for-5. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Maliya Dixon was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles.

Archbishop Murphy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shorecrest only posted a batting average of .222.

Archbishop Murphy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Shorecrest, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Archbishop Murphy will square off against rival Mountlake Terrace at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Shorecrest is set to challenge their familiar foe Meadowdale at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
