Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Newman Beats Clover for Their Third Straight Victory

Cardinal Newman had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Clover Blue Eagles by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cardinals, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Khylie Remmenga paced Cardinal Newman's offense, picking up six kills. Remmenga got some help from Lauren Rivers and her 12 assists. Rivers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Bryn Turlington and Dariya Ivanova certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Turlington had nine digs and one assist, while Ivanova had seven digs.

Cardinal Newman's record is now 7-1. As for Clover, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Looking ahead, Cardinal Newman will square off against Nation Ford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clover, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Lexington on the 28th.
