Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Area Wildcats vs. Groton Tigers
Northwestern Area lost to Groton back in October of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Northwestern Area Wildcats were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Groton Tigers. The victory was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.
While Northwestern Area won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-16, 26-24.
Despite the loss, Groton still got an impressive performance from Jerica Locke, who had 15 digs. Locke is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last six games she's played dating back to last season.
Northwestern Area has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 21 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season. As for Groton, they moved to 16-6 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
After both having extra time off, Northwestern Area and North Central will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northwestern Area is looking to tack on another W to their eight-game streak on the road. As for Groton, they will challenge Redfield at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
