Softball Game Preview: Iowa Valley Tigers vs. Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks

Iowa Valley hasn't had much luck against Colfax-Mingo recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Tigers will take on the Tigerhawks at 5:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when Iowa Valley challenged Columbus on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 5-4. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Colfax-Mingo made easy work of Colo-NESCO on Friday and carried off an 11-1 victory. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Tigerhawks this season.

Colfax-Mingo's win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-8. As for Iowa Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Iowa Valley beat Colfax-Mingo 8-5 in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Tigerhawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
