Softball Recap: Bountiful Picks Up 14th Consecutive Win

Bountiful waltzed into their match on Wednesday with 13 straight wins... but they left with 14. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cyprus Pirates a 6-0 shutout. The RedHawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Ella Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Isabeau Hoff was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Claire Yates was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Bountiful kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Bountiful's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average this season. As for Cyprus, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

Looking ahead, Bountiful is taking a road trip to square off against Box Elder at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cyprus, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Riverton at 3:30 p.m.
