BOGUE CHITTO, Miss. - After taking the lead in the fourth quarter,
Bogue Chitto (Miss.) held on for a 34-28 victory over
Stringer (Miss.) on Saturday. The difference for the Bobcats was
Brock Roberts thew a touchdown to
Brandon Wells.
The Red Devils pulled ahead on a rushing touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 21-7. The Bobcats scored the winning points with a Roberts touchdown pass to Wells that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring six points in the third, Bogue Chitto still trailed by 8 points going into the fourth quarter. But 21 points in the fourth helped BC pull out the victory.
The loss snapped Stringer's 6-game winning streak.
Tevin Moore played well for SHS. He ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 23 on the year.
Wells stood out for the Bobcats in the win. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown, ran for one touchdown and caught two touchdowns. He has now scored 11 touchdowns on the season.
Bogue Chitto got revenge for last year's 31-18 loss to the Red Devils with the victory.
The loss comes after Stringer defeated St. Aloysius 42-7 last week.
Bogue Chitto (9-0) goes up against St. Aloysius in a 1A Region 4 game matchup next week, while Stringer (7-2) locks horns with Hartfield Academy also in a 1A Region 4 game.
