Football Preview: Meeker Cowboys vs. Gunnison Cowboys
The Meeker Cowboys will head out to square off against the Gunnison Cowboys at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Last Friday, Meeker lost to Wiggins at home by a 27-12 margin.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Clay Crawford, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown. Cade Blunt handled things on the ground, rushing for 81 yards.
Meeker wouldn't let Wiggins keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Meeker can thank Trent Sanders and Blunt for forcing all of them. That's the most rushing yards Blunt has posted since back in September of 2023.
Meanwhile, Gunnison was beaten by Delta 51-12 on Friday. The Cowboys haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meeker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Gunnison, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.
