Baseball Recap: Heritage Christian Find Success

Heritage Christian barely beat Catholic Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots never let the Hilltoppers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Saturday. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

F. Siebert made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Heritage Christian is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 4-8 otherwise. Siebert was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, M. Geibl and I. Dufek did most of the damage at the plate: Geibl went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Dufek went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Dufek has become a key player for Heritage Christian: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was J. Draeger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

The victory got Heritage Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Catholic Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Christian will square off against Milwaukee Riverside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Catholic Central, they will take on Kenosha Christian Life at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
