Basketball Recap: Imagine Prep Skates Past Pan-American with Ease

Imagine Prep came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Pan-American 85-34. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Pan-American are ranked 189th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Imagine Prep had a senior duo take command as Dylan Eaddy went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 24 points along with eight rebounds and four steals and Jaylen Cassidy almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, nine assists, and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Cassidy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rich Rodriguez, who posted ten points.

Imagine Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Imagine Prep's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.6 points per game. As for Pan-American, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Imagine Prep and Glenview College Prep will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. As for Pan-American, they will welcome Imagine Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
